The short film “The Pink Line”, written and directed by Bayan Zarrabi, has been officially selected for the main competition section of the 21st Bunter Hund International Short Film Festival in Germany. This prestigious festival, taking place from March 5 to March 8, 2020, in Munich, Germany, is one of the most notable events dedicated to short films worldwide.
The Bunter Hund Festival, supported by Filmstadt München and the Department of Art and Culture of Bavaria, is a significant platform for creative and independent short films from around the world. Known for its bold and innovative storytelling, the festival offers a unique opportunity for short filmmakers to showcase their work on an international scale.
This edition of the festival will also feature a special program dedicated to Iranian cinema, showcasing films such as “White Season”(Hassan Najmabadi), “Morning, Noon, Night” (Nima Ghobi), “The Rule of the Circle” (Mehrshad Golkariyan), “The Treasure” (Arman Gholipour Dashtaki), “Lunch Time” (Alireza Ghasemi), and “Dialogue” (Abbas Rafiei & Seyfollah Hosseini). Additionally, in the main competition, “The Pink Line” will be competing alongside “Retouch” by Kaveh Mazaheri.
“The Pink Line” follows Faezeh, a woman seeking a divorce from her husband. To proceed, she needs to present a certificate of non-pregnancy. However, after taking the test, she is confronted with a shocking truth—she is pregnant, but not by her husband.
This powerful social drama tackles a sensitive and thought-provoking subject, shedding light on the struggles and complexities women face in society.
