Gelareh Abbasi (Persian: گلاره عباسی, [ɡeːlɑːre ʔæbˈbɑːsiː] ; born July 20, 1983) is a renowned Iranian actress, voice actress, and novelist, celebrated for her versatility in theater, cinema, and television. She graduated from the University of Art and Architecture and completed the Film Acting School under the supervision of Amin Tarokh. Abbasi holds a PhD in acting in cinema and has received numerous awards, including Best Actress from the Russian Silver Horse Festival and the Women’s Film Festival. In 2019, she founded Sevina, an organization that provides audio descriptions for movies and series for the blind and visually impaired in Persian. The foundation has screened four audio-described movies and one theater production in Tehran and advocates for increased accessibility on eBook and audiobook platforms.
