This notable achievement marks the documentary’s fifth international appearance, further solidifying its global influence.

The World Film Festival in Cannes, distinct from the Cannes Film Festival, is a unique event now in its fifth year, celebrating its fifth edition. The festival is known for its diverse and inclusive approach, attracting filmmakers, screenwriters, composers, singers, and bands from across the globe. Its eclectic nature and commitment to showcasing a wide range of genres, including indie films, documentaries, animations, and music videos, provide a unique platform for creative talent.

“Homa”, Produced by Dorsa Shafiee and distributed by Raft Films;  narrates the moving story of Homa Homavandi, a blind woman working as a counselor in an addiction treatment center. Despite her personal challenges, Homa is deeply committed to helping her community. The film also explores her adventurous marriage with her husband Reza, emphasizing their belief that life together will never be dull—though this constant excitement comes with its own complexities.

Before its success at Cannes, “Homa” had already garnered significant recognition. It was honored with a Diploma of Honor at the FicFusa Festival in Colombia and was featured at the A Royal Chance Film Festival and the Melbourne Documentary Film Festival.

The documentary’s acclaim is a testament to the exceptional talent behind its creation.
