Hadis Karimian (Fa: حدیث کریمیان) is an accomplished Iranian filmmaker and art history PhD student who was born on August 18, 1991, in Shiraz and now resides in Tehran. Karimian earned her master’s degree in theater, focusing on dramatic literature, and has worked as a first assistant and planning manager in the industry. She also completed the directing and screenwriting master class by Asghar Farhadi and holds a master’s degree in performance art from Azad University.
Karimian’s debut short film, Sorrow of Zeitoun, is a thought-provoking exploration of the ethical and moral dilemmas faced by a young boy and girl who steal a corpse to sell for profit. With this film, Karimian has demonstrated her talent for storytelling and her ability to tackle complex issues with nuance and sensitivity.
At 31 years old, Karimian has already achieved significant success in her career as a filmmaker, and she shows no signs of slowing down. With her passion for cinema and her dedication to exploring important social issues, Karimian is a rising star in the Iranian film industry and a voice to watch in the worlds of art and activism.
