Iranian film Khatemeh awarded special mention at Italian festival
Iranian documentary “Khatemeh” directed by Hadi and Mehdi Zarei, received a special mention at the LIFE AFTER OIL International Film Festival in Italy.

The documentary tells the story of an Afghan girl who unwillingly gets married to her late sister’s husband under the pressure of her family, ifilmtv.com reported.
The documentary features Khatemeh’s life from the moment she takes refuge in the welfare organization’s help center to file for divorce.
‘Khatemeh’ has previously won for Best Director for a full-length documentary and Best Editing at the 12th edition of the Cinema Vérité, which is known as Iran’s International Documentary Film Festival.
It has also competed at the 9th American Documentary and Animation Film Festival (AmDocs) in the US, as well as the 2019 Florence Film Awards in Italy.
The LIFE AFTER OIL International Film Festival is an environmental and human rights film festival.
