The Spanish film event FicoNova will screen Khatemeh during its online competition event.

Co-directed by Hadi and Mehdi Zarei, the documentary tells the story of an Afghan girl who escapes from home in order to avoid an early marriage and domestic violence.

 Zareis’ work is the winner of Best Director for Full-length Documentary and Best Editing awards at the 12th edition of the Cinema Vérité, Iran’s International Documentary Film Festival.

‘Khatemeh’ also competed at the 9th American Documentary and Animation Film Festival (AmDocs) in the US as well as the 2019 Florence Film Awards in Italy.

The flick will also appear at the LIFE AFTER OIL International Film Festival be held in Italy on September 10-19, 2020.

The event is set for some time during winter with the exact date yet to be announced.
